After the September DANA and storm "GLORIA" last January, slowly but surely, after the storm comes the calm. Now it is our beach's turn; today, Coastal Maintenance Services have begun restoring and tidying it up for the coming months.

Despite the fact that the quality of our waters leaves much to be desired — as voices with far greater scientific authority than the governments of the day assure that the minimum necessary regeneration measures are not being applied —, at least this restoration allows those of us who still believe in our spot in La Manga to feel a little more optimistic.

Let us not lower our guard and let us fight by actively participating in whatever demonstrations are called in the future for the survival of something as cherished as our Mar Menor.
